Serdang, 2 October 2025 – The UPM Alumni Relations Centre (ARCUPM) held a Borneo Cultural Night (MATNA) 2025 Coordination Meeting to discuss in detail the implementation of one of the key events for the upcoming Alumni Nostalgia Night (MATNA) 2025 celebration.

The meeting was attended by YBhg. Datuk Sylvester Entri Muran, Chairman of the UPM Alumni Association (Sarawak Chapter), and Ms. Siti Farhana, representative of the UPM Alumni Association. Also present were representatives from the Sabah Students Association UPM (PERMASA PUTRA) and the Sarawak Students Welfare Association UPM (PERKASA SARAWAK).
The session focused on several important aspects of the event, including the overall concept, programme content, roles of all involved parties, and cultural highlights, such as ethnic music performances, traditional dances, alumni nostalgia segments, and a mini cultural exhibition.

The participation of student representatives from Sabah and Sarawak showcased strong cooperation and unity between alumni and students, while reflecting their shared commitment to celebrating and preserving the cultural heritage of Borneo.
With the theme “Binding Memories, Uniting Alumni”, Borneo Cultural Night aims to serve as a platform that strengthens the bond among the UPM community while celebrating the diversity that enriches the university’s identity.

In conclusion, this coordination meeting marks an important step towards ensuring the successful organisation of the Borneo Cultural Night (MATNA) 2025, which is expected to be a vibrant and memorable celebration. ARCUPM extends its appreciation to all representatives for their active participation and dedication in making this meaningful event a success.
