Serdang, June 5th - The Public University Alumni Night Meeting (MAL '23) was held online. The UPM Alumni Relations Center (ARCUPM), as the Responsible Center (PTj) representing Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), participated in this meeting.
The Public University Alumni Night will be held for the first time this year (2024). This dinner event will gather alumni from 20 public universities across Malaysia. The gathering will also discuss and refine various agendas to strengthen the role of public university alumni throughout Malaysia.
The program will be held in Melaka in conjunction with the Independence Month celebration. Prior to that, the event will also honor public university alumni who have significantly contributed to their respective alma maters.
This is part of the alumni visibility agenda to inspire other alumni to actively participate in contributing to the excellence of their beloved alma mater.

Although the awareness of the importance of alumni roles in advancing the university's excellence agenda for local universities is still far behind compared to foreign university alumni, at least alumni here do not completely abandon their alma mater after graduation.
UPM itself has hundreds of thousands of alumni who have successfully graduated and excelled in their respective fields. Thus, the 'return' of these alumni to their alma mater is highly welcomed. Their contributions are not only financial but also through sharing their successes, which serves as a source of inspiration for current students to excel in their own fields.
