SERDANG, 20th July – The Meet & Greet 8.0: Alumni and Students Programme concluded on a high note, successfully bringing together Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) alumni and students in a vibrant event that fostered sportsmanship, camaraderie, and lasting connections across generations of the UPM community.
Organised as a platform to strengthen engagement between alumni and students, the programme provided participants with an opportunity to interact through sports while promoting teamwork, leadership, mutual respect, and a strong sense of belonging within the university community.

The highlight of the programme was the thrilling championship match, where Team Spain emerged as champions after securing a 1–0 victory over Team Argentina. The closely contested final showcased determination, discipline, and exemplary sportsmanship from both teams, making for an exciting conclusion to the tournament.
Throughout the event, participants demonstrated outstanding teamwork, competitive spirit, and mutual respect both on and off the field. More than just a football tournament, Meet & Greet 8.0 served as a meaningful platform for alumni and students to build relationships, exchange experiences, and expand their professional and personal networks.
The closing ceremony was graced by several distinguished guests, reflecting Universiti Putra Malaysia's continued commitment to strengthening engagement between alumni and students. Among those in attendance were Mr. Fahmi Azar Mistar, Director of the UPM Alumni Relations Centre, who was accompanied by his family; Mr. Shahruddin Mahadi, Deputy President of the UPM Alumni Association (PAUPM); and Mr. Haji Wan Zaharuddin Wan Abdullah @ Wan Abd Rahman, Head of the Student Affairs Division (BHEP) and Chief Assistant Registrar. Their presence underscored the University's strong support for initiatives that foster meaningful connections and collaboration between alumni and the student community.

The organising committee extends its heartfelt appreciation to all students who participated and contributed to the success of the programme. Special thanks are also extended to the organising committee, alumni volunteers, and supporters whose dedication and teamwork ensured the smooth execution of the programme from its planning stages until the final whistle. Their collective efforts were instrumental in making the eighth edition of Meet & Greet a memorable success.
The programme demonstrated how sports can serve as a powerful medium for uniting the university community across generations. By bringing alumni and students together in a friendly and competitive environment, the event encouraged knowledge sharing, mentorship, and meaningful networking that will continue to benefit both current students and future graduates.

As Meet & Greet 8.0 comes to a close, it is hoped that the friendships and professional connections established during the programme will continue to flourish through future alumni engagement initiatives, supporting Universiti Putra Malaysia's aspiration to nurture holistic graduates and a strong, committed alumni community.
Guided by the programme's slogan, "Football as Our Passion, Knowledge as Our Goal," Meet & Greet 8.0 continues to symbolise unity, excellence, and collaboration, reinforcing the enduring bond between UPM alumni and students while contributing to the University's continued growth and success.
