JONATHAN -MALAYSIA OLYMPIC SHOOTER

Jonathan Wong Guanjie is a Malaysian shooter. He had made Malaysia proud by winning the silver medal in the Singapore SEA Games 2015 and brought further cheers to the national sports camp when he was eligible for the Rio Olympics in 2016, after championing the 10-metre air pistol event at a qualifying tournament. Starting for the fun of it, the young national shooting champion, Jonathan Wong Guanjie felt like it was a dream when he participated in the Rio Olympic Games 2016.

“I followed my sister to join the Melaka Shooting Association selection test in 2004 unplanned. When I started shooting and the shot went on target, I felt good. From then on, I made shooting as my focus sport.

“I enjoy shooting, because you do not fight others. You shoot on the runway (lane) and you are in control of the situation. At times you feel Shooter Jonathan Wong Guanjie Student Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering tense when you have to control the match and that is when you have to challenge your mind and yourself which otherwise will make you lose your confidence.
