As the artificial lights washed over the hall of Dataran Melur, many guests mingled around in their semi-formal attire, addressing each other as alumni of Kolej Tun Dr. Ismail; a campus which launched their celebration of 50 Legasi to remember their five decades of excellence. 

The alumni who once graduated at Universiti Putra Malaysia and lived in KTDI (Kolej Tun Dr. Ismail), were once coming back to celebrate their MALAM MEMORI LEGASI 50 (MML 50) KTDI. Over a festive dinner, they reminisced about their university days, reconnecting with old friends and reliving memories that had shaped their lives. The event brought together alumni from across generations, from the pioneering batches to the youngest graduating class of 2025. For many of the newer alumni, being invited to the celebration made them feel recognised as part of KTDI's enduring legacy, despite only recently completing their studies.

Within many years, KTDI had sheltered many alumni with different passions and stories once they finished their academic years. Many alumni have gone on to become successful entrepreneurs, educators, farmers, and professionals across various industries. Their achievements continue to inspire current students, proving that the experiences and values gained at KTDI can serve as a strong foundation for success.

Additionally, many alumni have also chosen to give back to the college, recognising that their contributions can help support both student development and the continued improvement of the college's facilities.

“I am particularly impressed by how KTDI has become after years ahead.” Dato' Dr. Haji Idris Abdol, an alumnus of class 1970, said. “I am hoping for more improvement at KTDI, whether self-development skills for the students or even the infrastructure itself. In which, I believe the alumni here can step up and play a vital role.” He continued as his eyes drifted towards the venue, recalling his years spent at KTDI once as a student and once as a principal. 

While time may have passed, the bond with KTDI remains as strong as ever.
