Tanjung Karang, 6 August 2025 – The UPM Alumni Podcast, held in the morning session of 6 August, provided a meaningful discourse under the theme “Alumni Berilmu Berbakti – Roles & Challenges.” The session delved into the critical roles of alumni in advancing the university, community, and nation, while also addressing future challenges that must be overcome.

The discussion featured two distinguished alumni, Mr. Awaluddin Zakaria (UPM Alumni 2000), President of Sabak Bernam District Council.
He shared valuable insights on the pivotal role of alumni in contributing to the university and society, while highlighting the challenges that must be addressed to ensure alumni remain relevant and active. His career journey and achievements embody the true spirit of Berilmu Berbakti, serving as an inspiration to UPM students and the wider community.

Not to forget, our Mr. Noor Mohamad Shakil Hameed (UPM Alumni 2001 & 2011), Deputy Director, Corporate Communication, UPM.
In his sharing, he emphasised the importance of alumni as a vital bridge between the university and the community, while also reflecting on the challenges faced in today’s world. His professional journey and accomplishments exemplify the essence of Berilmu Berbakti, providing encouragement and a strong role model for the UPM family.

The session was moderated by Mr. Fahmi Azar Mistar, Director of the UPM Alumni Relations Centre, who successfully steered the discussion with passion and energy.

This podcast not only provided a platform for intellectual exchange but also strengthened the sense of pride in being part of the UPM Alumni family, while encouraging alumni to remain relevant, active, and dedicated in serving the university, community, and nation.
