Serdang, 1 February 2026 – The Malaysian Public Universities Alumni Council (MALUMNI) conducted a series of industry visits to selected agro-based and food manufacturing organisations on 1 February 2026. The visits aimed to provide valuable exposure to entrepreneurship, industry innovation, and best practices, while strengthening strategic networks between alumni, universities, and industry players.
The first visit took place at Saudagar Nanas Agrofarm, an agro-based enterprise that adopts modern and sustainable agricultural practices. The agrofarm is owned by Encik Mohd Noorhardy Mohd Noorzain, an alumnus of Universiti Putra Malaysia (Class of 1999 and 2002), who has successfully developed a sustainable pineapple-based business. During the visit, MALUMNI delegates were briefed on farm management, agricultural innovation, and real-world entrepreneurial experiences in developing a commercially viable agro-enterprise. The visit also served as a platform for knowledge sharing and exploration of potential strategic collaborations between alumni and universities in the fields of agriculture and entrepreneurship.

The industry visit continued at Beryl’s Chocolate, one of Malaysia’s leading homegrown chocolate brands established in 1995. The delegation toured the factory and chocolate museum in Seri Kembangan, gaining insights into the chocolate production process, quality control systems, and product innovation strategies that have contributed to the brand’s long-standing success. The wide range of premium products, including chocolates infused with local fruit flavours, reflects the potential of Malaysia’s food industry to remain competitive in both domestic and international markets.

The final visit was to Farm Fresh, a prominent local dairy brand well known for its fresh and high-quality products. The visit provided participants with in-depth exposure to dairy farm operations, product processing workflows, and the company’s commitment to quality assurance and sustainable production. The sharing sessions offered valuable inspiration on successful local brand development, while opening opportunities for learning and networking between alumni and industry stakeholders.

Overall, the MALUMNI industry visits provided meaningful insights into agro-based entrepreneurship, food manufacturing innovation, and sustainable business practices. The initiative aligns with MALUMNI’s ongoing efforts to strengthen alumni networks across public universities and to position alumni as key contributors to economic development, innovation, and the advancement of higher education in Malaysia.
