Alumni and Alma Mater are like two separate bodies but need each other. Alumni are among the largest holders in an alma mater. Every movement of alumni will be affected by the alma mater. Likewise, the services and devotion that have been given by the alma mater to a student who finally graduated with brilliance and brought alumni status are innumerable.
Because of this, alumni are welcome to return to their alma mater and provide service for the excellence of their alma mater. Students who are 'at war' with various 'feelings' need idols for them to emulate where alumni are the closest figure to the students.
Students consider their alumni or seniors to be the closest people to share any feelings and experiences. Alumni who have been in their situation are expected to be able to share their experiences so that they succeed in their studies and also be able to compete with the career world out there.
The role played by these alumni can to some extent provide very valuable 'input' to the students. Knowledge exchange is also demanded and it is part of the roles and responsibilities that alumni can play in contributing back to the alma mater.
Through various sharing from alumni, it will certainly give some relief to the students that what they are going through, they are not alone. Alumni have been through it first and don't worry because the existing alumni are ready to help them contribute to the path of success.
