Serdang, 8 Ogos - The Alumni Poetry Night 2025 at the Menara Putra Warisan Budi was a celebration of language, art, and heritage — a night where words touched the soul, evoked memories, and strengthened the spirit of love for literature and culture. This meaningful evening showcased the beauty of expression through the heartfelt performances of distinguished figures closely connected with Universiti Putra Malaysia.

Our deepest gratitude to Dato’ Dr. Zurinah Hassan, National Laureate and UPM Alumni Class of 2001, for her soulful recital of her own poem “Menunggu Pesawat”. Each verse resonated deeply, weaving emotions and rekindling the timeless beauty of words.

The evening was further enriched by YBhg. Dato’ Prof. Ir. Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah, Vice-Chancellor of UPM, who delivered a stirring recital of “Gemerlap Cinta Peradaban Bangsa” (The Sparkling Love of a Nation’s Civilization) by Nazim Mohd Subari. His rendition was not merely words, but an expression that inspired passion, connected memories, and celebrated the soul of art and civilization.



Adding to the charm of the night, Mr. Mohd Nazri Noh, UPM Alumni Class of 1996, captivated the audience with his powerful recital of “Ke Sarang Cenderawasih” (To the Nest of the Bird of Paradise) by Zaen Kasturi. His performance transported the audience into a realm of meaning rich with symbols and poetic elegance.

The UPM Alumni Relations Centre extends heartfelt appreciation to all who graced the evening — especially alumni, students, and distinguished guests. Their presence and support transformed the Alumni Poetry Night into more than an art performance — it became a space to nurture love, strengthen bonds, and enliven the spirit of the university under the timeless motto “With Knowledge, We Serve.”
