SERDANG - UPM was crowned for the third time the overall champion of Sukan Institusi Pengajian Tinggi (SUKIPT) which was held at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) Tanjung Malim from 12 to 21 August 2022.

The victory of winning 38 gold, 19 silver and 20 bronze enabled UPM to become the overall champion of SUKIPT, repeating its victory in 2012 and 2018.

UPM male rugby team won the best male team with a cash prize of RM7,000.00 and a trophy.

UPM Vice Chancellor YH. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohd Roslan Sulaiman feels blessed that UPM was crowned as SUKIPT 2022 overall champion.

According to Prof. Dato’, this is the third time UPM became the overall champion since 2012, 2018 and 2022.

Meanwhile, according to the Director of Sports Academy, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tajularipin Sulaiman, UPM contingent almost win 40 gold medals as their target. Nevertheless, this victory is incredibly meaningful.    

With 38 gold medals, proved that UPM athletes are among the best. As for Sports Academy, they will continue searching for new high-potential sports talents and will continue to enhance their facilities for athletes’ development.
