Putrajaya, 3 July - As part of its ongoing efforts to highlight the significant role of alumni in nation-building, the Alumni Relations Centre of Universiti Putra Malaysia (ARCUPM) proudly features the outstanding achievements of a distinguished UPM alumnus who now plays a key role in the country’s public administration.
Mr Sobri Mat Daud, a graduate of the UPM Class of 2011 with a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Development, currently serves as the Deputy Secretary-General at the Ministry of National Unity—a ministry that plays a crucial role in formulating unity policies and fostering social harmony among Malaysia’s diverse communities.
Throughout his career in the public service, Mr Sobri has taken the lead in formulating and implementing a range of strategic policies and initiatives focused on national integration, the development of inclusive communities, and the cultivation of a strong national identity. His ability to address the needs of Malaysia’s multi-ethnic society with competence and empathy demonstrates his far-sighted leadership and sensitivity to complex social dynamics.
His excellence is not only rooted in vast professional experience but also in the strong academic foundation and noble values instilled during his time at UPM. The university's emphasis on intellectual culture, leadership spirit, and integrity helped shape him into a dedicated and ethical civil servant.
Mr Sobri Mat Daud’s success stands as clear evidence of UPM’s commitment to producing graduates who are not only knowledgeable but also devoted to serving the nation.
