Serdang, 29 November — The 48th UPM Convocation Ceremony, held at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Cultural and Arts Centre (PKKSSAAS), saw three graduates receive prestigious university awards. Sharifah Hani Zafirah Alsagoff binti Syed Omar, a Biomedical Science graduate with Honours from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UPM, was awarded the Pak Rashid Foundation Gold Medal. Umar Haikal bin Othman, a Bachelor of Science in Biology with Education graduate from the Faculty of Science, UPM, received the Sultan Idris Shah Endowment Award, while Muhammad Alfaris bin Yulfendi, a Bachelor of Agricultural Science with Honours graduate from the Faculty of Agriculture, UPM, was awarded the Farm Fresh Food Security Award.

These prestigious awards were presented by His Royal Highness Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, the Chancellor of UPM, at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Cultural and Arts Centre. Sharifah Hani received a gold medal worth RM2,000.00, a cash prize of RM5,000.00, and a certificate of achievement, fully sponsored by the Pak Rashid Foundation. Umar Haikal received RM5,000.00 in cash and a certificate of achievement sponsored by the Sultan Idris Shah Endowment Fund, while Alfaris received RM5,000.00 in cash and a certificate of achievement, sponsored by Farm Fresh Sdn. Bhd.

Sharifah Hani expressed her gratitude for the recognition and thanked UPM for the award. "This is a very meaningful moment for me, the result of hard work and unwavering support throughout my studies here," she said emotionally. Umar Haikal, expressing his joy, thanked UPM for granting the award on such a significant day after completing his studies.

Alfaris, visibly moved, expressed his gratitude for the honor and thanked UPM for the opportunity and support throughout his academic journey. "This recognition means a lot to me and serves as a beautiful ending to my academic journey," he said with deep appreciation.
