Tanjong Karang, 13 December 2025 – The PUTRA @ Sawah Sempadan Tanjong Karang Carnival 2025, held over two days from 13 to 14 December 2025, officially commenced today in a vibrant atmosphere, bringing together a wide range of meaningful knowledge-sharing activities and community engagement programmes for the local community.

The opening ceremony of the carnival was officiated by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Industry and Community Engagement), Universiti Putra Malaysia, Professor Ir. Dr. B.T. Hang Tuah Baharudin. In his address, he highlighted the importance of collaboration between universities and local communities in fostering sustainable development through the transfer of knowledge, expertise and social responsibility initiatives.

Prior to the official opening, a community service activity was held involving the painting of a bridge at Kampung Kunci Air Buang. The activity was carried out by Professor Ir. Dr. B.T. Hang Tuah Baharudin together with other distinguished guests, symbolising Universiti Putra Malaysia’s commitment and care towards the well-being and improvement of the local community.

Throughout the two-day event, the carnival features various programmes, exhibitions and interactive activities aimed at benefiting the community and strengthening ties between the university and society. The organisation of the PUTRA @ Sawah Sempadan Tanjong Karang Carnival 2025 reflects UPM’s continued commitment to community empowerment and meaningful engagement beyond the campus.
