Serdang, October 26, 2024 – The Alumni Touch Rugby Match was held with great enthusiasm at Field A, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). The event was organized by College Ten, College Sultan Alaeddin Suleiman Shah, and College Tan Sri Mustaffa Babjee, in collaboration with the UPM Alumni Relations Center.
The primary objective of this event was to unite UPM alumni from various cohorts, fostering stronger connections through sports. In addition, the program aimed to promote sportsmanship, unity, and camaraderie among alumni and students while providing a platform to share experiences, insights, and further strengthen professional networks.
The Touch Rugby match featured two categories: one for students and one for alumni. Participants, representing their respective colleges, competed with passion and dedication. A total of 112 individuals took part in the event, displaying an exemplary spirit of sportsmanship and community.
The event was graced by the presence of YBhg. Prof. Dr. Arifin Abdu, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni); Associate Professor Dr. Siti Aqlima Ahmad, Director of the Alumni Relations Center; Dr. Mohd Mokrish Md Ajat, Deputy Director of the Alumni Relations Center; Associate Professor Dr. Nurul Hayah Khairuddin, Head of Tan Sri Mustaffa Babjee College; and Mr. Shahruddin Mahadi, owner of Baraplas. Their presence added prestige and excitement to the event.
The day concluded with an awards ceremony, where prizes were presented to the deserving winners by Associate Professor Dr. Siti Aqlima Ahmad, Director of the Alumni Relations Center.
It is hoped that this event will have a lasting positive impact on the UPM alumni community and will continue to be held as a cherished tradition, further strengthening the bond between alumni and students.
