Bintulu, 31 October – A meaningful engagement session was held between key representatives of the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) alumni network and the recipients of the UPM Alumni Scholarship at UPM Bintulu Campus, Sarawak.

The session aimed to strengthen the bond between scholarship sponsors and recipients, while fostering the spirit of alumni who continuously support UPM’s legacy of academic excellence and student welfare.

The event was graced by Mr. Muhazam Mansor, Registrar of UPM; Mr. Fahmi Azar Mistar, Director of the Alumni Relations Centre UPM (ARCUPM); Dr. Muhammad Mu’az Mahmud, Deputy Director of ARCUPM; Tn. Hj. Mat Amin Jaafar, Secretary-General of the UPM Alumni Association (PAUPM) and sponsor of the AMCO Niaga Scholarship; and Dr. Alvin Lim Teik Zheng, Associate Fellow of the Alumni Network.

The session celebrated Intan Syuhaila Basli, recipient of the Cyperus 3.0 Scholarship, a Diploma in Agriculture student at Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus (UPMKB).

This programme served as a vital platform to foster engagement between alumni and students, promoting the Alumni Giving Back culture within the university. Such initiatives not only inspire students to excel but also embody UPM’s enduring motto, “With Knowledge We Serve.”

In conclusion, the session symbolised appreciation for the sponsors’ generosity while reinforcing the sense of unity, compassion, and social responsibility among UPM alumni to continue contributing to their alma mater and the wider community.
