SERDANG, 12 March 2026 – The SEHEPA 2026 (Seminar Hal Ehwal Pelajar dan Alumni 2026) was successfully held at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Educational Studies, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). The seminar aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of student development programmes while strengthening the ecosystem of student and alumni empowerment.

The programme was officiated by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Prof. Dr. Arifin Abdu, who encouraged open discussions, idea-sharing, and presentations focusing on the impact assessment of various student development initiatives implemented across the university.

On the other hand, Prof. Dr. Arifin Abdu also highlighted that the organisation of  SEHEPA aligns with Rancangan Pendidikan Tinggi Malaysia (RPTM) 2026-2035, particularly in enhancing talent development and producing holistic graduates. He emphasised the importance of nurturing students through values rooted in humanities, entrepreneurial mindsets, and adaptability to better prepare them for an increasingly complex and competitive world.

Beyond serving as a platform for exchanging ideas, the seminar also functioned as a structured mechanism to evaluate the tangible outcomes of student development programmes carried out by the Student Affairs and Alumni (HEPA) entities across various Responsibility Centres (PTJ). This evaluation is crucial in ensuring that initiatives remain relevant, impactful, and aligned with the university’s strategic goals.

Overall, SEHEPA 2026 represents a significant step towards strengthening collaboration, enhancing programme effectiveness, and reinforcing UPM’s commitment to holistic student development. With its potential to expand to national and international levels, the seminar also serves as a bridge for building stronger networks and advancing the agenda of student development within and beyond the university.
