Serdang, January 25th - Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) recently hosted the Reunion MEKAR Ceremony for the Reserve Officer Training Unit (PALAPES), bringing together alumni from the first intake to the most recent batch in a meaningful gathering that celebrated the legacy and contributions of its members.
The event was graced by distinguished guests, including YB Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution bin Ismail, Minister of Home Affairs, Malaysia; Kolonel (Honorary) Dato' Professor Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd. Sadullah; Tan Sri Datuk Seri (Dr) Hj Mazlan bin Lazim; Puan Sri Hajah Anizah binti Musa; Leftenan Jeneral Dato’ Seri Haji Muhammad Huzaimi bin Sabri; Datin Seri Hajah Rosilawati binti Ahmad Tajri; and Academician Professor Emeritus Datin Paduka Setia Dato' Dr. Aini Ideris. Their presence added prestige to the event, highlighting the significance of PALAPES in shaping future leaders.

This reunion served as a platform to reconnect alumni with their alma mater while celebrating the shared experiences and invaluable contributions of PALAPES members to the nation's development. Former PALAPES trainees reminisced about their training days, strengthening the bonds of camaraderie and recognizing the unit’s outstanding role in producing visionary leaders with high integrity.
The event not only rekindled fond memories but also reinforced the strong ties between alumni and the university, ensuring that the spirit of PALAPES continues to inspire future generations.
