REUNION CEREMONY FOR RETIREES & ALUMNI OF THE FACULTY OF EDUCATIONAL STUDIES, UPM

Serdang, January 18th – Astana Putra, UPM, became the venue for a historic gathering as the Reunion Ceremony for Retirees & Alumni of the Faculty of Educational Studies (FPP) was held in celebration of FPP’s 50th Golden Jubilee Anniversary.

Hosted by Dr. Mohd Fadzil Che Din, the event was graced by distinguished FPP alumni who have made remarkable contributions across various fields. Among them were Tan Sri Dr. Madinah Mohamad, Tan Sri Datuk Mazlan Md Lazim, Tan Sri Dr. Alimuddin, Tan Sri Dr. Nordin Kardi, YB Datuk Muslimin Yahaya (former Terengganu Chief Minister), YAB Dato’ Seri Razif Ahmad, and Datuk Zaiton Othman (Commissioner of Sports Malaysia). Their presence highlighted the profound impact of FPP in shaping leaders and professionals across diverse sectors.

The Director of the UPM Alumni Relations Centre, Associate Professor Dr. Siti Aqlima Ahmad, delivered a keynote speech emphasizing the importance of maintaining strong ties between alumni and their alma mater. The event was further enriched with a heartfelt poetry recital by Associate Professor Dr. Norazlina Mohd Kiram, a special screening of the FPP Golden Jubilee video, and a cake-cutting ceremony led by Professor Emeritus Dr. Kamariah Abu Bakar, the sixth Dean of FPP.

A symbolic baton handover marked a significant moment in the ceremony, as Professor Emeritus Dr. Abd Rahman Md Aroff, the fifth Dean of FPP, passed the baton to Professor Emeritus Dr. Kamariah Abu Bakar, the sixth Dean of FPP, signifying the continued legacy of excellence within the faculty. The ceremony concluded with a group photography session, capturing the spirit of unity and appreciation among alumni and retirees, a momentous milestone in FPP’s journey of academic excellence and leadership.
