SERDANG - Alumni Relations Centre has received donations of clothing from MyFundAction of 3000 pieces of clothing including children's shirts, adult women's shirts of various sizes and various types of scarves. All these clothes are new clothes to be distributed to the needy, especially asnaf, and orphans. According to the Deputy Director, Alumni Relations Centre, Encik Fahmi Azar Mistar who is also assisted by the Assistant Registrar, UPM Alumni Relations Centre, Puan Nik Hafzaini Nik Hassan, described the PUTRA Jannah Alumni Programme as a comprehensive and extensive collaboration programme with the community and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

"We took the approach of the concept of 'sharing sustenance'. To further spread the people who can be helped, we also involve other entities in University Putra Malaysia as our strategic partners. Eight (8) strategic partners comprising the Registrar's Office, Tan Sri Mustaffa Babjee College, Tan Sri Aishah Ghani College, College Kesepuluh, Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication, Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Hospital, Pertubuhan Yayasan Salak and Chapter Alumni Yosh UPM, are seen to be able to launch the distribution process ahead of Ramadan and this outfit is expected to complete all its distribution before Muslims celebrate Eid al-Fitr. In addition, the collaboration with these strategic partners is also seen to strengthen the relationship between the University and alumni. It is in line with the slogan "Eratkan Kerjasama Sesama Alumni' where programmes that are alumni friendly and involving alumni either directly or indirectly will continue to be expanded in the future and each entity has its own alumni," he said at the symbolic handover ceremony officiated by the Vice-Chancellor of UPM, Ybhg. Dato' Prof. Dr. Roslan Sulaiman who was also attended by the Director of Alumni Relations Centre, Ybhg. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arba'ie Sujud.

This program also aims to build a network of industries and communities that are concerned about sustainable development through the contribution of basic necessities as the target of the success of the UPM Strategic Plan 2021-2025. In addition, this program is also in line with the wishes of the Vice-Chancellor of UPM, Ybhg Dato' Prof. Dr. Roslan Sulaiman in the Narrative of the Vice-Chancellor 2023, the seventh effort of Consolidating the Strength of Alumni. UPM is among the universities that have a large number of alumni and surely each of them has its own strengths in the industry and the partnership of them will benefit many not only the students but also the University. The PUTRA Jannah Alumni Programme managed by the Alumni Relations Centre is a pilot program for other programmes to follow that will involve the community and community especially during Ramadan. Among them, the Musaadah Ramadan Programme is divided into two activities, namely the Mawaddah Ramadan Programme and Tautan Mahabbah.
