Serdang, 3 November – The Alumni Relations Centre of Universiti Putra Malaysia (ARCUPM), in collaboration with the Sultan Abdul Samad Library, had the honour of interviewing Dr. Mohd Khalid Mohd Nor, a UPM alumnus from the Class of 1966 and one of the former students of the late Pak Rashid, a highly respected educator in the university’s history.

During the interview session, Dr. Mohd Khalid emphasized that discipline is the key to success. He recalled that during his studies at the Malayan Agricultural College (KPM), the late Pak Rashid not only focused on academic excellence but also placed great importance on character development, ethics, and personality building in preparing students to face real-life challenges.
He further shared that Pak Rashid’s educational approach, which extended beyond the classroom, successfully produced many graduates who excelled not only in their respective careers but also contributed significantly to uplifting the Malay community through knowledge and leadership.

In conclusion, the values of discipline, determination, and integrity instilled by the late Pak Rashid continue to serve as timeless guidance and inspiration for future generations — in line with the spirit of “Berilmu Berbakti” that forms the foundation of Universiti Putra Malaysia.
