Lancang, Pahang, 15 October – The Alumni Relations Centre of Universiti Putra Malaysia (ARCUPM) had the privilege to meet one of the former students of the late Pak Rashid, Tuan Haji Sidek Din, an alumnus of UPM from the Class of 1968.
The meeting, held at Masjid Kuala Kaung, Lancang, Pahang, was part of the “Jejak Sejarah Lisan Pak Rashid” (Oral History Trail of Pak Rashid) initiative organized by ARCUPM to document the stories and legacy of the late educator who played a significant role in shaping early UPM graduates.
Tuan Haji Sidek Din stands as a living testament to the enduring values instilled by the late Pak Rashid. He firmly upholds the principle once emphasized by his mentor — “If you wish to accomplish something, do it wholeheartedly and never give up until success is achieved.”

His steadfast spirit and perseverance throughout his life reflect the lasting influence of Pak Rashid’s teachings, making him one of the finest examples of the late educator’s legacy.

In conclusion, this interview not only strengthens ARCUPM’s efforts to preserve the oral history of UPM’s pioneer figures but also serves as a reminder to the UPM community of the timeless values of sincerity, perseverance, and dedication that continue to inspire generations.
