Serdang, 9 February 2026 – The Pewaris Gemilang Scholarship Interview Session was successfully conducted at the Alumni Relations Centre, Universiti Putra Malaysia (ARCUPM) as part of the selection process to identify deserving recipients in support of students’ educational continuity and academic excellence.

The interview session represented a key stage in assessing the academic potential, leadership qualities, and aspirations of shortlisted candidates, in alignment with the objectives of the Pewaris Gemilang Scholarship, which emphasises the development of knowledgeable, visionary, and future-ready scholars.

The session was made possible through the collaboration of multiple stakeholders. The presence of Mr. Zainol Abidin Ahmad, Chief Executive Officer of Pewaris Gemilang Sdn. Bhd. and Alumni Scholarship Sponsor, reflected a strong commitment towards student welfare and talent development through sustainable educational sponsorship initiatives.

The interview process was chaired by Mr. Fahmi Azar Mistar, Director of the Alumni Relations Centre UPM, who served as the Head of the Interview Panel. Other panel members included Ms. Wan Suzaimas Wan Sulaiman, Head of the Student Finance Section, UPM Bursar’s Office; Mr. Mohd Nazri Md Yasin, Head of Administration, Admissions and Academic Governance Division, UPM; and Ms. Ummi Husna Abdullah, Head of the Student Welfare Section, Student Affairs Division, UPM. The involvement of a multidisciplinary panel ensured a comprehensive evaluation covering academic merit, student welfare, and governance aspects.

A total of seven candidates attended the interview session, demonstrating strong preparation and a high level of commitment, reflecting their determination to secure the educational sponsorship offered.

Overall, the organisation of the Pewaris Gemilang Scholarship Interview Session underscores the continued commitment of the sponsor and Universiti Putra Malaysia to expanding access to education, nurturing young talent, and producing graduates who excel academically while making meaningful contributions to society and the nation.
