Serdang, 15 October – The Universiti Putra Malaysia Alumni Association (PAUPM) continues to strengthen its commitment to supporting the excellence of alumni across various fields, including sports—particularly FootGolf, which is steadily gaining popularity among UPM alumni.

A casual meeting was held at UniPutra Golf Club, UPM, with Mr. Muhd Hasrul B. Hasan, an alumnus of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Class of 2000 & 2003, who completed his Diploma in Agriculture in 1998 and later obtained his Bachelor of Science with Industry degree in 2003. The session was held as a gesture of support for Mr. Muhd Hasrul, who will be representing Malaysia at the China FootGolf Open 2025 (FOOTGOLF FIFG500), scheduled to take place from 15 to 22 October 2025 in Tianjin City, People’s Republic of China.

Also present to show their support were Mr. Fahmi Azar Mistar, Director of the UPM Alumni Relations Centre (ARCUPM), and Mr. Shahrudin Mahadi, Deputy President of PAUPM, who offered words of encouragement and moral support ahead of his departure for the international tournament.

Mr. Muhd Hasrul, a former resident of Kolej Mohd Rashid (KMR) during his student years, is now an active player in both local and international FootGolf circuits. For the year 2025 alone, he has participated in eight championship series, achieving remarkable success by emerging as Champion of the Terengganu, Selangor, Johor, and Malaysia Open 2025 tournaments.

In an interview session, he expressed his gratitude for the continuous support received from PAUPM and ARCUPM, while sharing a heartfelt message with current and future alumni about the power of sports in fostering unity.

“To future and current alumni, if you want to strengthen our bond, join FootGolf. Through this sport, we get to meet alumni from different generations. FootGolf knows no age limit — anyone can play. This is how we reunite the UPM alumni family,” he said.

This initiative by PAUPM not only reinforces the spirit of sportsmanship among alumni but also reflects the core value of ‘Berilmu Berbakti’ (With Knowledge We Serve), which remains the foundation of the UPM alumni community in fostering lifelong connections, professional networking, and unity through meaningful engagement.
