Serdang, May 8th - The UPM Alumni Relations Centre (ARCUPM) received a courtesy visit from the top management of Northern Technical University (NTU), Iraq. The delegation, led by Prof. Dr. Alyaa Abbas Al-Attar (Rector of NTU), discussed collaboration opportunities through the alumni network.
According to Associate Professor Dr. Aqlima, every opportunity and avenue to connect ARCUPM and alumni should be fully utilized. Alumni play a significant role in supporting the mission and vision to produce highly competitive graduates and achieve the university's vision of becoming an internationally reputable institution.
According to data from the Alumni Information System (AIS), UPM has more than 150,000 registered alumni. This number could be larger if counted from the establishment of the School of Agriculture Malaya in 1931.
With such a large dataset, alumni consensus is welcomed to energize the university's efforts towards academic excellence. One optimistic step taken is to strengthen the relationship between alumni and the alma mater, not just local alumni but also international alumni.
Therefore, ARCUPM views this courtesy visit as a new and initial step towards reaching out to international alumni. Together, we can build stronger bridges to elevate UPM's name to the pinnacle of excellence.
