MYFUNDACTION- UPM IMPLEMENTS SUBMISSION OF 6600 KIT 3K

01 March 2021, Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS)- A brief handover ceremony of aid kit packages to frontline staff and COVID-19 patients was presented by the Director-General of the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA), Datuk Dr. Aminuddin Hassim. The assistance kits provided such as personal hygiene equipment, dry food sets, ready-to-eat food packs, personal protective equipment (PPE) sets, adult and children's diapers as well as tablets and
laptops are indispensable current necessities. Among the main objectives of this activity is to give awareness to young people and youths about the importance of volunteer activities, besides contributing ideas and energy in the country to face COVID-19.


The involvement of government agencies and NGOs plays an important role in ensuring that all parties take responsibility for caring for society and the country collectively. Meanwhile, UPM welcomes the intention of MyFundAction through Chapter Alumni YOSH UPM to make the Alumni Relations Center a storage and packaging area for relief items. The handover ceremony was also attended by Dato 'Indera Dr. Sha’ari Ngadiman, Director of the Selangor State Health Department, Dr. Shahabuddin Ibrahim, Director of COVID-19 Low-Risk Quarantine and Treatment Center (PKRC) 2.0 MAEPS, Professor. Dr. Arifin bin Abdu, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student and Alumni Affairs) UPM and Tuan Mohammad Afiq Nazary, Chief Executive Officer of MyFundAction.


The activity which lasted for 4 days from February 26 to March 1 was completed with 6600 aid kits packed. Volunteers comprising students at residential colleges, UPM staff, Sahabat Masjid UPM, Chapter Alumni YOSH UPM volunteers, YOSH MyFundAction volunteers as well as representatives from the Social Welfare Department highlighted their concern in jointly facing the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Professor Dr. Arifin Abdu, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student and Alumni Affairs) of Universiti Putra Malaysia who was also present at the handover ceremony thanked me for the cooperation and concern of MyFundAction which continues to help those in need in such relief missions. “UPM would like to thank those who have been involved in packaging activities to the front line staff and COVID-19 patients at PKRC MAEPS. We also at UPM always welcome the cooperation of external agencies in volunteer activities like this. With this cooperation, it is hoped that many more NGOs will come together in implementing activities of this nature. ”
