SERDANG, 22 August 2026 – The UPM Heritage Clock Tower (Menara Jam Warisan Budi) served as the starting and finishing point for the Cross-Country Run organised by Methodist Wesley Secondary School on 22 August 2026.

As early as 6.30 a.m., the area surrounding the UPM Heritage Clock Tower began to fill with students and teachers preparing for the run. The presence of the school community brought a lively atmosphere to the area surrounding the landmark.

The organisation of sports and community activities at the UPM Heritage Clock Tower is viewed as a positive initiative to enliven the area while providing an opportunity for the community to utilise the location for various suitable activities.

Beyond serving as one of UPM’s landmarks, the UPM Heritage Clock Tower also has the potential to be utilised as a venue for activities that foster closer connections between the university and the wider community.

The UPM Alumni Relations Centre (ARCUPM), as the entity responsible for managing the UPM Heritage Clock Tower, extends its highest appreciation and gratitude to Methodist Wesley Secondary School for selecting the location as the starting and finishing point for the event.

ARCUPM also welcomes schools, institutions, organisations and stakeholders interested in organising suitable activities that provide mutual benefits at the UPM Heritage Clock Tower.

Efforts to activate and utilise the public space surrounding this landmark are hoped to continue, further establishing the UPM Heritage Clock Tower as an active venue that supports community activities and strengthens university-community engagement.
