SERDANG, 12th March 2026 - Alumni Relation Centre Universiti Putra Malaysia (ARCUPM), in cooperation with Chapter Alumni YOSH UPM, Akademi Kenegaraan Malaysia (AKM) and also Pusat Kokurikulum dan Pembangunan Pelajar UPM (PKPP UPM) had successfully organized Mawaddah Ramadan 7.0 programme in conjunction with Musa’adah Ramadan Series 5. The programme was located at Menara Putra, Warisan Budi UPM.
The programme was gathered by members of the university community, alumni and also volunteers in a rewang activity of preparing bubur lambuk through a communal cooking effort. This was followed by the distribution of bubur lambuk to the campus community as well as the presentation of iftar meals to students of the UPM Foundation in Science Programme (ASPutra).

The programme’s initiative to collaborate with Chapter Alumni YOSH through a communal cooking was carried out smoothly and in a spirit of togetherness. The programme successfully gathered volunteers, campus members, and alumni in a harmonious rewang atmosphere, while fostering the values of cooperation, companionship, and compassion throughout the month of Ramadan.
In addition, the programme served as a platform to strengthen ties among the Universiti Putra Malaysia community, alumni, and the surrounding community through their joint participation in charitable activities.

The event was further honoured by the presence of Dato’ Sri Jailani Johari, Chairman of the University Board of Directors; Prof. Dr. Arifin Abdu, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni); and Encik Muhammad Nazirul Hafiz Sailal, Assistant Director of AKM Selangor, who collectively expressed their support for initiatives that strengthen student welfare and community engagement within the university.
Also present to enliven the programme were Encik Fahmi Azar Mistar, Director of ARCUPM; Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Mursyid Arshad, Director of PKPP and Advisor of Chapter Alumni YOSH UPM; and Cik Nur Asyiqin Ramli, President of Chapter Alumni YOSH UPM.
According to the Director of ARCUPM, the event is commonly organised as one of the centre’s annual programmes. The collaboration with Chapter YOSH UPM, AKM, and Faiza represents a meaningful partnership in connecting students, the UPM community, and alumni beyond the campus. Indirectly, the programme serves as a platform for alumni to give back to the university and its students, while also engaging in acts of worship during this blessed month.
“I would like to express my highest appreciation on behalf of the organisers to Dr. Salwa Abu Bakar, a UPM alumnus from the classes of 1983 and 1988 and Senior General Manager of Faiza Sdn. Bhd., for her valuable contribution in making this programme possible, as well as to Chapter YOSH UPM and AKM,” he said.
Appreciation was also extended to members of the UPM alumni community who contributed their support and donations. It is hoped that every contribution will continue to serve as a lasting charitable deed and bring benefits to many, particularly UPM students. Such generosity and commitment to giving back to one’s alma mater reflect the strong spirit of unity and solidarity within the greater UPM family.
