Genting Highlands, 18 January 2026 – The Universiti Putra Malaysia Alumni Relations Centre successfully organised the Governance and Strategic Direction Workshop of Yayasan Pak Rashid 2026, which was held over three days from 16 to 18 January 2026 at Awana Hotel, Genting Highlands. The workshop served as a strategic platform to strengthen the foundation of governance and to formulate a more structured, transparent and sustainable direction for the foundation in addressing future challenges.
The workshop was attended by members of the Ex-Officio Board of Directors of Yayasan Pak Rashid, namely Encik Mohd Norashedy Ab Rashid, Encik Shahrudin Mahadi, Encik Muhazam Mansor, Puan Siti Amira Shukor and Tuan Haji Mat Amin, as well as Non Ex-Officio Board Members Yang Berbahagia Tan Sri Datuk Seri Haji Mazlan Lazim and Yang Berusaha Dr. Lim Ban Keong.


Throughout the intensive workshop, participants were provided with comprehensive exposure to both fundamental and strategic aspects of foundation management. One of the key sessions focused on the history and establishment of Yayasan Pak Rashid, delivered by Yang Berusaha Dr. Rohani Ibrahim, which provided valuable insights into the foundation’s original objectives and long-term sustainability.
The programme also featured sessions on the legal and constitutional framework of the foundation, conducted by Yang Berbahagia Dato’ ‘Aliyah Karen. This session highlighted the importance of the Trust Deed and the legal structures that underpin effective governance. In addition, matters related to audit, compliance and financial integrity were discussed in depth through a session led by Yang Berusaha Puan Zalyffah Jiman, with emphasis on effective internal control practices for non-profit organisations.


Discussions during the workshop further centred on the strategic direction of Yayasan Pak Rashid for 2026, particularly in strengthening alumni engagement and developing more dynamic and impactful fundraising approaches. The outcomes of these discussions provided greater clarity for the Board of Directors in carrying out their respective roles in a focused and collective manner.
Overall, the workshop marked an important milestone in reinforcing unity, shared understanding and collaborative leadership among the management of Yayasan Pak Rashid, paving the way for more impactful initiatives in the future.
