London, 2 February 2026 – Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) continues to strengthen its global alumni network with the launch of the UPM International Alumni Chapter@United Kingdom, held at Education Malaysia London.

The launch ceremony was officiated by Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Professor Ir. Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah, Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Putra Malaysia, together with Yang Berusaha Professor Madya Dr. Mohd Hanafi Ahmad Damanhuri, Director of Education Malaysia London. This initiative marks a strategic step by UPM to enhance international alumni engagement and to strengthen high-impact global collaborations.

Also present at the event were Encik Iqbal Ismat Nordin, Education Attaché at Education Malaysia London and UPM alumnus from the Class of 2013 Encik Hasrul Husni, Education Attaché, Education Malaysia London, Yang Berusaha Dr. Muhammad Muaz Mahmud, Deputy Director of UPM Alumni Relations Centre, Encik Shahrudin Sahrani, Special Officer to the Vice-Chancellor of UPM, and Puan Nur Sahira Faghira Tahrir Adli, Executive Officer at UPM Alumni Relations Centre.

The UPM International Alumni Chapter@UK serves as the official platform to bring together UPM alumni residing and working in the United Kingdom, while fostering strategic connections between alumni, the university, and Malaysian educational agencies overseas. The chapter is expected to drive initiatives focusing on professional networking, knowledge sharing, academic support, and the global promotion of UPM.

Overall, the establishment of the UPM International Alumni Chapter@United Kingdom reflects UPM’s ongoing commitment to empowering alumni as global ambassadors of the university, aligning with UPM’s vision to expand its influence and reputation on the international stage.
