SERDANG, 9 April 2026— A discussion meeting in preparation for the UPM Alumni Day Celebration scheduled on 21 May 2026 was successfully held at Bilik Menara Warisan Budi, Alumni Relations Centre, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).

The meeting brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from Perpustakaan Sultan Abdul Samad UPM, Pusat Strategi dan Perhubungan Korporat UPM, residential colleges, and Persatuan Alumni UPM. The session aimed to strengthen collaboration and coordination among all parties involved to ensure the smooth planning and execution of the upcoming celebration.

Among the key agenda items discussed were initiatives to introduce Pak Rashid to UPM students, particularly in enhancing awareness of his contributions and legacy within the university community. In addition, the proposed renaming of the TNCPI Building to Bangunan Rashdan Baba was also highlighted as part of efforts to preserve institutional heritage and strengthen the university’s identity.

The meeting also provided a platform for participants to exchange ideas, share insights, and align strategies in organising meaningful programmes that would engage both current students and alumni. Emphasis was placed on fostering stronger connections between the university and its alumni network through inclusive and impactful activities.

Overall, the discussion marked an important step in ensuring a well-coordinated and successful UPM Alumni Day celebration, while reinforcing collaboration among stakeholders and promoting a stronger sense of belonging within the university community.
