SERDANG, 9 April 2026— The Alumni Relations Centre Universiti Putra Malaysia (ARCUPM) recently held a briefing and discussion session with representatives from residential colleges at Mini Auditorium 1, TNPI Building. The session aimed to strengthen collaboration between ARCUPM and the colleges while enhancing student engagement in alumni-driven initiatives.
The briefing covered several key programmes and initiatives organised by ARCUPM, including the MADANI Alumni Run, Dapur MADANI, Hari Alumni UPM, and MEKAR Siri 32: Serdang Angels Hamdan Cup 2.0. In addition, discussions highlighted ongoing efforts such as the establishment of Alumni Corners at Read@ residential college spaces, the Alumni Engagement Activity Grant, as well as initiatives related to documenting the history of residential colleges, increasing alumni engagement rates, and the role of Associate Fellows.
Representatives from residential colleges were invited to encourage student participation in these programmes, while also gaining greater exposure to ARCUPM’s roles and initiatives. The session also aimed to provide opportunities for students to engage with distinguished alumni, fostering meaningful networking and connections that would benefit them beyond their academic journey.
The involvement of the Majlis Perwakilan Kolej (MPK) and college fellows was also emphasised as a key component in strengthening collaboration. Through strategic partnerships with ARCUPM, both parties can play a significant role in bridging current students with future alumni, creating a continuous and supportive ecosystem.
Overall, the session marked an important step towards enhancing cooperation between ARCUPM and residential colleges. This collaboration is expected to benefit students, alumni, and the university community as a whole, while further strengthening the connection between students and their alma mater.
