Serdang, 8 August - This special segment brought together three poets from the Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication, who combined their voices, styles, and emotions in a single narrative. With distinct tones and rhythms, they breathed life into the poem “Kita Berpencak Lagi Ogos Ini” by Shamsul Idzam Jamil, weaving together nostalgia, patriotism, and the spirit of unity.

The performance featured three distinguished UPM alumni — Dr. Che Ibrahim Salleh (Class of 1985 & 2003), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Norazlina Hj. Mohd Kiram (Class of 1998), and Dr. Sharil Nizam Sha’ri (Class of 2007 & 2010). Their presence on stage not only showcased their literary artistry but also symbolized the harmony of three generations of alumni uniting through poetry and shared heritage.

The evening was further enlivened by the participation of Salsabila Azzahra (Ahra), a mobility student from Universitas Negeri Malang, Indonesia, who presented “Rukun yang Kita Yakini” by Abdul Hadi Yusoff. With her heartfelt delivery, Ahra touched the audience deeply, transcending cultural and national boundaries. Her performance beautifully illustrated how poetry serves as a bridge that unites two nations through the universal language of art.

The Alumni Poetry Night thus stood as a testament to the power of poetry — uniting voices, souls, and spirits across generations, cultures, and borders. It reflected the enduring richness of artistic heritage that continues to thrive among alumni and the broader UPM community.
