Serdang, May 7th - The UPM Alumni Relations Centre (ARCUPM), in collaboration with the UPM Alumni Association (PAUPM), organized the Alumni Gathering Ceremony 2024 as an effort to strengthen the relationship between UPM alumni and the university. This alumni involvement also helps to solidify strategic ties among UPM alumni.

The event started at 10:00 AM in the Rashdan Baba Auditorium, Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) building, and was attended by nearly 200 UPM alumni. This number includes alumni still serving at UPM and alumni from various industries.

This annual event serves as a medium and a space for reunions and networking among UPM alumni and the management and representatives of the University led by ARCUPM. The Alumni Gathering Ceremony 2024 also provides an interactive platform for alumni to actively contribute ideas and efforts to enhance the excellence of UPM and its students.

“Our theme for 2024 is 'UPM Alumni, With Knowledge We Serve,' and to achieve this goal, the involvement of UPM alumni is crucial. I am very pleased to see the enthusiasm and commitment shown by all the alumni present today. This event also indirectly strengthens the bonds among UPM alumni, creating ongoing and positive impacts on the development and excellence of our proud university,” said Associate Professor Dr. Siti Aqlima Ahmad, Director of the UPM Alumni Relations Centre.

Strong relationships with alumni will continue to benefit the university, especially the students, helping them to achieve success like their role models in various industries.

Alumni are undeniably the closest figures to the students. Students look up to the successes of their alumni as sources of inspiration to continue the legacy of the university's achievements. Therefore, the role of alumni is highly encouraged and welcomed to give back to the university, contributing together to build a nation of excellence, not only locally but also internationally.

Also present at the event was the President of the UPM Alumni Association, Dato' Raihan Sharif, who expressed his commitment to continue helping UPM advance through the relationships that have been established for a long time.
