Serdang, 10 October – In conjunction with the Minggu Perkasa Putra (MPP) 2025/2026, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) hosted the Session with the Nation’s Leader, featuring YB Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang, the Minister of National Unity and UPM alumnus from the Faculty of Forestry, Class of 1983.

The event, held at Dewan Besar UPM, brought together more than 3,700 new students, who attended to listen to the inspiring sharing and address by the distinguished alumnus, who now holds a key position in the Malaysian cabinet.

In his speech, YB Datuk Aaron reflected on his journey as a student at UPM, where he pursued his studies at the Faculty of Forestry from 1979 to 1983 and resided at the Second Residential College. He expressed his pride and deep emotion upon returning to the very campus where he had once gained valuable knowledge more than four decades ago.

His heartfelt message not only rekindled fond memories but also served as an inspiration for the new students to seize every opportunity for learning and personal growth during their years at UPM. He also advised students to work diligently, value knowledge, and use it as a foundation for future success.

Also present at the ceremony were YBhg. Prof. Dr. Arifin Abdu, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), and Mr. Fahmi Azar Mistar, Director of the Alumni Relations Centre (ARCUPM).

The Alumni Relations Centre UPM (ARCUPM) expressed its utmost appreciation to YB Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang for taking the time to engage with the university’s new students and for delivering an inspiring and motivational address.

The event symbolised the enduring bond between alumni and their alma mater, reaffirming that Universiti Putra Malaysia is not only a place for academic pursuit but also a nurturing ground for future leaders of the nation.
