SERDANG, 18 Oct - The initial process for the construction of the Warisan Budi Clock Tower is underway. The process of soil assessment before the construction has also been carried out at the construction site which is at the field facing the UPM Main Hall.

The assessment session is to ensure that the ground structure is sturdy enough for the construction of the clock tower. This is also to avoid risks in the future.

The construction of the Warisan Budi Clock Tower is expected to begin its process in January 2023. It will take 6 months and it is expected to be completed in June 2023.

The project, which was envisioned in 2006, was fully injected with public funds from alumni, students, staff, and individuals. The project, which cost almost RM1.4 million, will be a new landmark of UPM glory. The clock tower also will be students gathering spot upon completion.

Director of Alumni Relations Centre, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arba'ie Sujud described Warisan Budi Heritage Clock Tower as a symbol of solidarity among alumni and UPM community in working together in programmes and activities envisioned by the university.

"I would like to thank all UPM alumni who have contributed and also to all UPM staff who are also together in launching the construction of Warisan Budi Clock Tower. This is a landmark of UPM's glory as a reputable international university. The togetherness shown by the alumni also responded to the call of the Vice-Chancellor's Narrative 2022, the 11th aspiration of 'To Engage Alumni for University Sustainability’. He said.
