REUNION EVENT FOR RETIREES & ALUMNI OF THE FACULTY OF EDUCATIONAL STUDIES, UPM

Serdang – Astana Putra, UPM, witnessed a historic event, the Reunion for Retirees & Alumni of the Faculty of Educational Studies, UPM, held in conjunction with the 50th Golden Jubilee Celebration of the Faculty of Educational Studies, UPM. The event, hosted by Dr. Mohd Fadzil Che Din, was attended by distinguished FPP UPM alumni, including Tan Sri Dr. Madinah Mohamad, Tan Sri Datuk Mazlan Md Lazim, Tan Sri Dr. Alimuddin, Tan Sri Dr. Nordin Kardi, YB Datuk Muslimin Yahaya, former Terengganu Chief Minister YAB Dato' Seri Razif Ahmad, and Datuk Zaiton Othman, the National Sports Commissioner.

The Director of UPM Alumni Relations Centre, Associate Professor Dr. Siti Aqlima Ahmad, was also present to lend her support and deliver an important speech to strengthen the connection between alumni and their alma mater.

The event was enlivened with a poetry recital by Associate Professor Dr. Norazlina Mohd Kiram, the screening of the FPP UPM Golden Jubilee video, and a cake-cutting ceremony led by Professor Emeritus Dr. Kamariah Abu Bakar, the 6th Dean of FPP.

A symbolic baton-passing session followed, where Professor Emeritus Dr. Abd Rahman Md Aroff, the 5th Dean of FPP, handed over the baton to Professor Emeritus Dr. Kamariah Abu Bakar, the 6th Dean. The event concluded with a group photo session.

Former Auditor-General Tan Sri Dr. Madinah Mohamad (Class of 2012 Alumni) expressed her deep appreciation for the doctoral degree she earned at UPM, noting that it paved the way for her to hold high-ranking positions in public service, enabling her to contribute to the nation’s excellence.

Meanwhile, former Malaysian Sports Commissioner Datuk Zaiton Othman (Class of 1998 Alumni) stated that events like this are valuable as they allow alumni to reconnect with lecturers who played significant roles in their lives.
