SERDANG – The launching ceremony of Batik Canting 2 Generasi drawing was held at the Sultan Abdul Samad Library UPM. The event was organised by Co-Curriculum and Student Development Centre in collaboration with Sultan Abdul Samad Library, Alumni Relations Centre and Centre for Corporate Strategy and Relations.   

The paintings will be displayed at Sultan Abdul Samad library for a month from 9 July to 9 August. These paintings were painted by UPM staff, Mohd Isnain Ali from Co-Curriculum and Student Development Centre, Galinda Kamaruzaman from Pendeta Za’ba residential college and Muhammad Alif Akram Mohd Isnain from Centre for Corporate Strategy and Relations. 

The exhibition is named Lukisan Batik Canting 2 Generasi as it is a combination of father, mother and son. The main objective of this exhibition was to raise scholarship funds for UPM students. 

The proceeds from the paintings sales will be collected and converted as scholarship for selected students mainly from the underprivileged, asnaf, B40, and persons with disabilities (OKU).

According to Mohd Isnain Ali, this is the second time he had set up his painting exhibition during his tenure at UPM he will be retiring soon, thus, this is part of his contributions before retirement.

“The proceeds of these paintings will be channelled to the office responsible for students’ scholarship funding. This is my contribution to UPM which has been devoted to my family and I throughout my tenure,” he said at the launch ceremony.    

Alumni Relations Centre would like to congratulate for organising this exhibition which at least capable to assist students to fund their studies.
