SERDANG – Malaysian Public Universities Alumni Day Celebration was held on 9 December 2021 at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Arts and Cultural Centre Main Hall, UPM.

Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) was entrusted as the Organising Committee together with other public universities were committed in realising this event to uphold the aspirations of Malaysia Higher Learning Institutions to sustain alumni role in university.

The establishment of Malaysian Public Universities Alumni Council (MAUAM) is an initiative by several HEI alumni centres administrators. This effort was made to bring about a revolution for a continuous university community well-being. It also proves that every graduate has an inseparable relationship with the university. Their giving back contribution is highly welcomed.

The main objective of this event was to empower the role of alumni together with the university in driving success.

Among the guests were Ahmad Rizal Adnan, Director of Public HEI Governance Division, Prof. Dr. Arifin Abdu, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Raman Noordin, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Dr. Mohammad Fuad Bebit, Head of Secretariat Malaysia Public Univerisity Alumni Council (UMS), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arba’ie Sujud, Head of Alumni Empowerment Core (UPM), Dr. Khairuddin Osman, Asri Hj. Husain and Prof. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Mohd Ekhwan Hj. Toriman.

As host, Prof. Dr. Arifin Abdu expressed his deepest gratitude to all public universities involved in the establishment of Malaysia Public Universities Alumni Council which will certainly be the best platform to discuss issues related to HEI alumni.

With the establishment of the Malaysia Public Universities Alumni Council, the alma mater empowerments agenda will continue to be further strengthened with alumni contribution to the nation’s excellence.
