Serdang, March 21st - Ihya' Ramadan Program: UPM YOSH Alumni Chapter together with the Faculty of Education's Students Representative Council (FEDSSCO) conducted the distribution of porridge at the courtyard of the Faculty of Education (FPP) through a drive-thru system.
The opening ceremony was officiated by the Vice-Chancellor of UPM, YBhg. Dato’ Professor Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah. Also on hand were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wan Marzuki Wan Jaafar, Dean of the Faculty of Education, and Mr. Fahmi Azar Mistar, the Deputy Director of the UPM Alumni Relations Center (ARCUPM).
The event, which began early in the morning, started with the preparation of porridge by students and continued with the distribution activities starting at 5.00 p.m. and ending around 6.00 p.m. UPM staff and students were excited to receive the porridge personally delivered by the Vice-Chancellor of UPM while spending friendly time with staff and students on their way home.
According to Nurul Athirah Mohd Affandi, the organizer and representative of the UPM YOSH Alumni Chapter, a total of 1000 packets of porridge were prepared and distributed free of charge to UPM residents and students. The purpose of this program is to enliven the month of Ramadan among students and the community of Universiti Putra Malaysia as a whole.
In addition to the distribution of porridge, the UPM YOSH Alumni Chapter that founded by UPM alumni in 2018, has conducted various activities involving the community and students, including providing new Eid clothes in 2023 in ARCUPM collaboration. These are among the contributions that can be given to the alma mater as well as to students and the community.
