SERDANG – Alumni Relations Centre UPM (ARCUPM) congratulates Dr. Abdul Rahim Harun, alumni class 1998, on his appointment as Director General of the Malaysian Nuclear Agency.

Dr. Abdul Rahim obtained a Bachelor of Agricultural Science from UPM in 1988, a Master in Applied Genetics from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom in 1998 and PhD in genetics from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2010.

He is a nuclear expert in the field of plant mutation breeding and has conducted several specialist missions on behalf of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Laos and Mauritius.

He also obtained Master in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the Pacific, United States of America in 1990, and PhD in the same field from UPM in 2015.
