SERDANG – Alumni Relations Centre held a fertilizer handover ceremony from BAJANAS. The ceremony, held at Alumni Town Hall was meaningful whereby once again UPM alumni contributed back to alma mater through students in the pioneer Megachili project 2021.   

Muhamad Nazrul Nazaruddin, the founder of BAJANAS was an alumnus class of 2003. The representative of BAJANAS was delighted that this contribution is an act of giving back to the university which has facilitated their founder back then. 

In the handover ceremony, the representative from Chancellor College, Tun Dr. Ismail College, Sultan Alaeddin Suleiman Shah College, Pendeta Za’ba College, Thirteenth College, and Seventeenth College had attended to receive their fertiliser respectively from BAJANAS.

As for Alumni Relations Centre UPM, this is what is expected when alumni giving back to alma mater regardless of the contributions. This contribution is not limited only to monetary, but what BAJANAS contributed was highly welcomed and appreciated.  

“Alumni Relations Centre welcomes BAJANAS to assist students in Megachili project. Alumni giving back in succeeding university’s vision and mission as outlined in UPM Strategic Plan 2021-2025, “Strengthening Agriculture and Food Security Resilience” and “Producing Resilient Graduate Characters in Facing the Challenges” are highly expected.   

“We at Alumni Relations Centre would like to thank BAJANAS for the fertiliser contributions today.” Said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arba’ie Sujud.

Together in this handing over ceremony was Insan students from Co-Curriculum and Student Development Centre (PKPP). They attended the ceremony is to gain information on methods and techniques for using compost fertiliser.  

A practical session was also conducted by BAJANAS which introduced the techniques and methods in using compost fertiliser for students. It is hoped that the knowledge that gained will be beneficial for them in the near future.
