SERDANG – Alumni Relations Centre continues to bring back alumni to alma mater to support the university’s aspiration in Sederap Melangkah Menuju al-Falah and to engage alumni for university sustainability.

Universiti Putra Malaysia has 136,989 local and international alumni registered in the Alumni Information System (AIS), with 9,750 alumni distribution in Selangor. With this large number of alumni, if per person contributes RM10.00 consistently each month is sufficient to contribute to alma mater in mobilising various programmes including scholarships and other student reliefs.

Taking the initiative, UPM Registrar, Muhazam Mansor, which is UPM alumni has initiated QKB-MPP 04 scholarship, in turn, to be the 19th alumni scholarship. His approach is, RM50.00 contributed by its members is sufficient to sponsor a student for their studies.

QKB is a credited co-curriculum in the culture core, divided into two semesters, May and November. Students are exposed to the introduction to culture and activities to know other local cultures. This course is open to diploma and bachelor students.

In celebrating UPM 50 Years Golden Jubilee, the club alumni consistently increase and, on that note, Muhazam Mansor has taken a role for QKB club alumni to contribute to alma mater. Thus, QKB-MPP04 was established and will sponsor a student which fits the required criteria.

“Alumni Relations Center UPM welcomes UPM alumni to contribute back to alma mater. Every semester we receive numerous scholarship applications from students. As an entity with alumni as stakeholders, every contributions by alumni were distributed to the qualified students and the sponsors has the rights to make the decision,” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arba’ie Sujud stated.

For the upcoming semester 2022/2023, Alumni Relations Centre managed to secure three new alumni scholarships, Norzack Scholarship, 2 Generasi Scholarship and QKB-MPP04 Scholarship.
