SERDANG - Earth Day Celebration was celebrated at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Alumni Relations Centre UPM (ARCUPM) celebrated it as a solidarity to preserve and save the earth from destruction.

Earth Day is an effort to demonstrate a good example for future generations in preserving the earth’s safety, cleanliness and tranquillity.   

The celebration which was held at UPM level with the theme ‘Invest in our Planet’ was celebrated simultaneously in expressing their concern towards environmental care. To liven it up, YH. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohd Roslan Sulaiman interacted with the offices through Zoom application to get to know each office’s highlights pertaining to the celebration.

Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohd Roslan reminded UPM community to practice environmental care in line with his aspiration to maintain UPM’s reputation as the most sustainable university.

“The shift to a healthy lifestyle can be realised with a clear vision and since UPM is the most sustainable university for 12 years, hence green campus agenda will be empowered,” he said.

He also launched UPM TV Kampus, known as PUTRA TV in the celebration. Attended in the celebration was Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation). Prof. Dr. Nazamid Saari, Chief Librarian, Muzaffar Shah Kassim, Director of Centre for Corporate Strategy and Relations, Prof. Dr. Azmawani Abd Rahman, and university’s officers.
