SEPANG – UPM Di Puncak Dunia@Everest mission entered the next phase when the nation’s solo mountaineer who had repetitively conquered the world’s highest peak of Everest departed for Kathmandu, Nepal for his final training session before ascending Mount Everest for the third time.

On 25 March 2022, Ravichandran and his team departed for Kathmandu, Nepal from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). Accompanied at KLIA as the sign of solidarity and moral support was the Director of Alumni Relations Centre UPM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arba’ie Sujud, UPM Alumni Association President, Dato’ Raihan Sharif, UPM Alumni Association Manager, Haji Wan Ali Wan Ibrahim, and ARCUPM staff.

History has been made for UPM as its flag has been raised at the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest by its own alumni. Ravichandran was UPM alumni class of 1990 and this is his third time ascending Mount Everest, and the third time charm is the most special since he will be raising UPM flag.

This will be his contribution to the university that has served him the best lifelong education. Along goes the slogan ‘Dari Alumni Kepada UPM’, he intends to bring UPM name to the top of the world in line with UPM outstanding reputation.

Alumni Relations Centre and UPM community pray for the success of his mission. His updates can be followed on his Facebook page and UniPutra Tik Tok.
