The second session was held at UPM’s main campus in Serdang from 29 November to 5 December 2025, involving 6,373 graduates from various academic disciplines. This addition of new alumni is expected to further support the university in achieving its vision and mission.

The first session was graced by UPM’s Chancellor, Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj. During this session, the country’s renowned motivational speaker, Dato’ Dr Mohd Fadzilah Kamsah, was conferred the Honorary Doctorate in Educational Development in recognition of nearly five decades of contributions to motivation, education, and human capital development. Dato’ Dr Mohd Fadzilah has also received the Darjah Kebesaran Dato’ Setia Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, Tokoh Ma’al Hijrah, and Anugerah Belia Felda Malaysia.

In conjunction with the convocation, UPM organized the UPM Convocation Festival and Agriculture Expo 2025 (PESKON 2025) at a new venue, Menara Putra Warisan Budi. PESKON 2025 officially opened with a launching ceremony officiated by UPM Vice-Chancellor, YBhg. Dato’ Prof. Ir. Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah, held at the PESKON 2025 site at Dataran Menara Putra Warisan Budi. The relocation to a larger space allowed for a more organized layout and an enhanced experience for graduates and visitors.

PESKON 2025 featured lively nightly performances from 28 November to 5 December, including special appearances by popular artists Hazwani Helmi and Heliza Helmi, among others. The presence of parents and families further enlivened the convocation celebrations.
Conclusion: The 49th UPM Convocation not only celebrated the academic achievements of graduates but also strengthened the university community spirit. With recognition given to education icons and the organization of vibrant activities, the ceremony symbolized excellence, inspiration, and meaningful experiences for both graduates and visitors. It marks a new beginning for graduates to continue contributing to society and the nation.
