Serdang, 19 August 2025 - The first day of the Golden Jubilee Celebration of Class ’75 Alumni was held with great festivity as the alumni returned to Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) after five decades away from their beloved alma mater. The programme served as a platform to rekindle cherished memories, strengthen bonds of friendship, and express pride in the remarkable growth of the university that once shaped their academic journey.

The visit began at Kolej Sultan Alaeddin Suleiman Shah (KOSASS), a historic location that holds the earliest memories of campus life for the Class ’75 alumni. The journey then continued to KMR OnePutra Residence, which once stood as a hub of student life and social activities. The delegation was later brought to the Administration Building and Lecture Hall D (Faculty of Human Ecology), which witnessed countless lectures, seminars, and academic discussions.

In addition, the alumni had the opportunity to visit the Menara Putra Warisan Budi, an iconic landmark symbolising UPM’s enduring legacy as a premier institution producing excellent graduates. The tour proceeded to the Sultan Abdul Samad Library, once the heart of student learning and research. Today, the library not only showcases modern advancements but also stands as a symbol of UPM’s continued tradition of academic excellence.

To conclude the first day, a casual fellowship session, “Makan Borak Santai”, was held with the campus community. This session provided a warm and meaningful space for alumni to share experiences, offer inspiration, and exchange perspectives with the younger generation of students.
The entire campus tour programme was more than just a walk down memory lane — it was a reflection of the five-decade journey of Class ’75 alumni, who continue to embody the spirit of “Berilmu Berbakti” (With Knowledge We Serve), remaining steadfast in their support for the university that shaped them into successful individuals.
