SERDANG, 3 January – The first meeting between Alumni Relations Centre UPM (ARCUPM) with the representative from Kolej Pertama Malaya 73 (KPM 73) took place at Warisan Budi meeting room, ARCUPM. KPM73 was represented by Haji Muhamad Jusri Abdul Aziz to discuss the programmes line up for MEKAR KPM73 Golden Jubilee Celebrations.
The first meeting was to get a glimpse of the programme which will be held on 9 July 2023, at Astana Putra, UPM. The one-day programme is expected to gather as many alumni as possible and KPM73 intake to return and recall memories of 50 years ago and to remark university’s success over the past 50 years.
It is estimated that more than 100 alumni of KPM73 who have contributed to UPM will return to the green campus and boost the university’s reputation with the involvement and engagement of alumni. As the representative of KPM73, Haji Jusri has an insight into the course of the programme and considered the success of MEKAR KPM72 which was held grandly and managed to collect a significant amount of contribution to the development of UPM.
As for Jusri, this porgramme is the best platform to gather UPM alumni, especially from Kolej Pertanian Malaya to contribute back to alma mater. Before this, they have no place for a reunion in a casual manner and to discuss beneficial agendas. Thus, MEKAR is seen to be able to revive the ecosystem for alumni to return and contribute to the university.
ARCUPM always paves the way and provides the opportunity to alumni who wish to contribute. With the slogan ‘Eratkan Kerjasama Sesama Alumni’ it is hoped several collaborations and programmes can be carried out with alumni in the future.
