For a month the exhibition was conducted at the Library and various promotional activities were carried out, the accumulated revenue has reached RM15,000 and the objective of this exhibition has been achieved which is to sponsor a diploma level student for the 2022/2023 session. With this success, the 2 Generation Alumni Scholarship is the 18th scholarship successfully realized by the Alumni Relations Centre in collaboration with all parties, especially UPM alumni who are returning to contribute to the alma mater.
For the main person in this exhibition, Mr. Isnain Ali, Head of Administration and Finance Division, Centre for Co-curriculum and Student Development UPM, described this as his contribution to UPM which has been a great service and benefit to himself and his family. "To me this is my way of repaying UPM during my 30 years of service and in 2022 is my final year of service. Thinking about what can be given to the 'employer' who has taken care of my welfare and my family, then the idea was born and came up with the idea of holding the Batik Canting 2 Generation Painting Exhibition which we will fully donate to the Alumni Relations Centre to be managed as a scholarship to UPM students in need, especially those from B40 and asnaf families. I call it 2 generations because this exhibition also involves the work of my son, Mohd Alif Akram. The three of us agreed that I, my wife and children to have this exhibition which is our contribution to UPM which has been a lot of success to us over the years.
Alhamdulillah this exhibition has the support of YH. The Vice-Chancellor of UPM also visited the exhibition," he said. Looking at the determination of UPM staff in helping to provide funding for UPM student scholarships, as Director of UPM Alumni Relations Centre, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arba'ie Sujud expressed his gratitude especially to the workmen who have done something out of the box to help raise the funding of student scholarships.
