On the morning of 21 January 2026, the Office of the Universiti Putra Malaysia Alumni Association (PAUPM) in Serdang felt different from usual. A space typically quiet and formal was brought to life with laughter, warm smiles, and heartfelt conversations. Alumni from diverse professional backgrounds gathered those who now lead corporate careers, run their own businesses, serve as educators, or dedicate themselves to community service. They came not merely to attend an event, but to give back to the alma mater that once shaped their journey.
Meet & Greet 3.0 created a meaningful space for connection. More than a formal gathering, it served as a platform where experiences were shared, networks were strengthened, and inspiration was sparked. Each alumnus carried their own life story of challenges faced, lessons learned, and successes achieved woven together in a collective narrative of growth and contribution.
At the heart of this gathering was the pivotal role of the UPM Alumni Relations Centre, which acts as the main bridge between alumni and the university. Through this connection, contributions particularly in the form of scholarship funding are carefully channelled to support students in need. These initiatives have played a crucial role in enabling students to continue their studies without financial barriers. Every contribution made represents more than a monetary value; it reflects compassion, social responsibility, and the alumni’s commitment to nurturing hope for the next generation.

During an interactive sharing session, Puan Suhana Md Chairi, representing Chapter Cyperus ’92, shared her experience of contributing RM14,000 towards student scholarships. Her words resonated deeply, reminding attendees that the true meaning of success is found when it is shared for the benefit of others. Similarly, Encik Zainol Abidin Ahmad from Pewaris Gemilang, who contributed RM120,000, reaffirmed that sustained alumni support can open doors of opportunity for students from various backgrounds.
Beyond financial contributions, the gathering strengthened alumni networks. Participants exchanged experiences, ideas, and potential collaborations, creating an atmosphere of genuine camaraderie. This closeness illustrated that the relationship between alumni and the university extends far beyond formality it is a living support system where every individual has the potential to create lasting impact.
The meeting left a lasting warmth in the hearts of those present. Alumni returned not only to reconnect with familiar faces, but to ignite inspiration, build meaningful networks, and ensure that UPM students continue to move forward with hope, determination, and confidence. It is here that stories of unity, contribution, and shared purpose come alive, lighting the way for future generations.
