SERDANG - Located at Nikko Hotel in 2006, in conjunction with Universiti Putra Malaysia 75th Anniversary Celebration, a fund for the construction of Warisan Budi Clock Tower was officiated by His Royal Highness, Chancellor of UPM.
The main objective of the clock tower construction was to offer gratitude for every contribution made by alumni and UPM community. Besides that, the construction of the clock tower is also symbolic of time is gold and time is the essence of success.
Warisan Budi Clock Tower is also a new landmark of UPM representing the unity of the campus community and cooperation leading to the university’s reputation locally and internationally.
Although the construction was repeatedly delayed due to financial constraints, however, under the supervision of Alumni Relations Centre UPM, the construction was successfully realised with fundraising of RM1.4 million. By January 2023, the construction will begin and is expected to be completed in June 2023.
Not only the clock tower will be the new landmark of UPM, but it will also be a one-stop centre for students to gather especially during convocation to memorialise the memento.
Alumni Relations Centre UPM would like to express its deepest gratitude and congratulates UPM community and alumni for realising the clock tower construction.
